Yes, you can apply to compete without a wetsuit, please tick the appropriate box when entering to receive a non-wetsuit participant application form. A minimum of 6 weeks before the event we will ask you to have submitted the form, which will provide us with enough information on your stated abilities, experience (both swim distance and water temperature) and current training to grant or refuse your application. In the event that we refuse your application, you will be offered a full refund (if you wish). If conditions are deemed to be extreme on the day, then we may prevent you taking part without a wetsuit. Under these circumstances you will be offered a full refund, unless you choose to compete with a wetsuit. For information, the average water temperature in September 2016 was 16.1c.
